Description

A single Mossberg Model 500G pump-action shotgun chambered in 20 Gauge. The firearm features a 28-inch barrel marked with a fixed Modified choke. The action is slide-operated. Markings visible on the receiver assembly indicate the manufacturer as Mossberg, MADE IN U.S.A., NORTH HAVEN, CONN., 500G 20 GA. The barrel is marked CHAMBERED FOR 2 3/4 AND 3 IN. SHELLS, 20 GA. 28 INCH MODIFIED CHOKE MADE IN U.S.A. The serial number C58284 is located near the trigger guard. The bolt or carrier visible through the ejection port exhibits a decorative jeweled finish. The furniture consists of varnished hardwood for both the buttstock and the ribbed forend. A single brass bead sight is present at the muzzle.Barrel Length: 28 inches
Condition: The overall condition is fair to poor due to heavy operational wear and corrosion. The glossy blued/black finish on the receiver is heavily worn, showing numerous scratches and thinning, particularly along the edges. The barrel and magazine tube assembly exhibit substantial patches of brown surface rust and moderate corrosion, especially visible toward the muzzle end. The hardwood furniture (buttstock and forend) shows typical handling marks, scuffs, and minor dings consistent with field use, though the varnish remains largely intact. The buttstock is fitted with a worn, reddish/orange rubber or plastic buttplate that shows cracking and wear. The action appears to function correctly when cycled manually, though we have not function-tested this firearm with live ammunition. The bore condition is unknown without specialized inspection. It is the buyer’s responsibility to ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal firearms laws.
