Description

A single Winchester Model 70 bolt-action rifle chambered in .300 Winchester Magnum, featuring a high-gloss blued finish. The receiver is marked with the serial number 798228. The barrel is marked: -WINCHESTER? MODEL?70?300 WIN. MAGNUM?MADE IN U.S.A. WINCHESTER PROOF STEEL-. The rifle is fitted into a custom-style walnut stock featuring a Monte Carlo comb, a prominent cheekpiece, and a pistol grip. The buttstock is fitted with a ventilated rubber recoil pad marked TRAPMASTER VERSION C-1L, separated from the wood by decorative black and white spacers. The rifle is equipped with sling swivel studs on the forend and buttstock. An accessory Redfield 2XFX fixed-power scope is mounted to the receiver using Weaver bases and rings; the internal reticle is a standard duplex crosshair. The action is of the controlled-feed type characteristic of the Model 70.
Condition: The metal components retain a high percentage of the original high-gloss blued finish, showing minor handling marks consistent with use, particularly on the barrel near the muzzle and high edges of the receiver. The bolt handle is bright polished steel. The custom walnut stock shows notable cosmetic wear, including numerous scratches, dings, and compression marks, particularly visible on the forend and the left side of the receiver area. The recoil pad shows wear and some minor damage around the screw holes. The bore condition cannot be assessed visually without disassembly. The action appears to function correctly when cycled by hand. The mounted Redfield scope is clear with a sharp duplex reticle. We have not function-tested this firearm for safety or accuracy. It is the buyer’s responsibility to ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal firearms laws.
