Description

A classic American bolt-action sporting rifle manufactured by J. Stevens Arms Company of Chicopee Falls, Massachusetts, U.S.A. This is the STEVENS MODEL 66, designed for use with .22 SHORT, .22 LONG, or .22 LONG RIFLE rimfire ammunition. The rifle features a full-length wooden stock and blued steel components. The action is a simple turn-bolt design, feeding from a tubular magazine located beneath the barrel. The magazine tube features a knurled end cap for loading. The barrel is clearly marked with the manufacturer, location, model number, and caliber designation. Two circular proof or inspection stamps are visible on the left side of the receiver/barrel junction. This model was a popular utility and target rifle produced during the pre-World War II era. No measurements are available.
