Description
Molds are 358156 and 35891. A pair of vintage Lyman bullet casting molds designed for hand loading and black powder enthusiasts. These specialized pliers-style tools feature heavy ferrous metal bodies and precision mold blocks, paired with turned wooden handles secured by metal ferrules. Both tools are clearly marked “LYMAN” on the mold blocks, identifying them as products of the esteemed Lyman Gun Sight Corporation, a long-standing manufacturer of reloading equipment. The top tool is marked with the caliber designation “460,” indicating a nominal bullet diameter of approximately .460 inches, typically used for popular .45 caliber firearms such as the .45-70 or .45 Colt. The bottom tool is marked “643,” representing a significantly large bore diameter, likely intended for large caliber muzzleloading rifles or shotguns. These molds were essential tools for shooters seeking to cast their own custom lead projectiles.
