Description

A classic American pump-action shotgun manufactured by O.F. Mossberg & Sons, Inc. of North Haven, Connecticut. This is the Mossberg Model 500A, chambered for 12 gauge, accepting both 2 3/4 inch and 3 inch shells. The shotgun features a specialized 24-inch rifled barrel, designed for increased accuracy when firing slugs, making it suitable for deer or large game hunting. The action is pump-operated, featuring a blued steel finish and varnished wood furniture, including a checkered forend. The receiver is marked with the serial number K602123, located on the flat above the trigger guard. The barrel is clearly marked: “MOSSBERG® MADE IN U.S.A. NORTH HAVEN, CONN. 12 GA – 24 IN. RIFLED BARREL.” The receiver also bears a visible safety warning inscription. The weapon is equipped with a mounted TASCO 2.5 X 32 telescopic sight, affixed via a rail and rings to the receiver. The scope displays a standard duplex crosshair reticle. The buttstock is fitted with a brown rubber recoil pad marked “Supreme.” This configuration is typical of modern hunting firearms intended for use in areas requiring rifled slug guns.
