Description
A classic American pump-action shotgun, the Winchester Model 1200, chambered in 20 Gauge for 2 ¾ inch shells. This example features a 28-inch ventilated rib barrel, constructed of Winchester Proof Steel. The shotgun utilizes a black metal finish on the receiver and barrel, complemented by glossy, checkered wood furniture on the stock and forearm. The barrel is clearly marked “WINCHESTER MODEL 1200 – 20 GA. 2 ¾ CHAM.” and “MADE IN NEW HAVEN, CONN. U.S.A.” It is equipped with the factory “WINCHOKE” system, indicating the barrel accepts interchangeable choke tubes. The serial number L1256226 is located on the underside of the receiver. The buttstock is fitted with an original checkered rubber or plastic buttplate marked “WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS.” This model was produced following the discontinuation of the Model 12, likely dating this specific piece to the late 1960s or 1970s.
