Description

A classic American semi-automatic shotgun, the Remington Mohawk-48, manufactured by REMINGTON ARMS CO. INC., ILION, N.Y., MADE IN U.S.A. The Mohawk-48 was a streamlined version of the successful Model 11-48, utilizing the long-recoil operating system. This example features a blued steel receiver and barrel, complemented by highly finished, checkered wood furniture on both the buttstock and forend. The trigger is gold-toned, providing an aesthetic contrast. The barrel is marked for 12 GA. FOR 2 3/4 OR SHORTER SHELLS, and measures 28 inches in length. The left side of the receiver is clearly marked “Mohawk-48” and bears the serial number 5263352. Additional markings include the circular “REP” proof mark. The firearm is accompanied by a quality vintage soft gun case manufactured by BOYT, constructed of durable olive drab canvas with significant reddish-brown leather trim, handles, and end caps, secured by a zippered closure. The buttstock retains its original rubber buttpad stamped “Remington.”
