Description
This is a sporterized military surplus Lee-Enfield No. 1 Mk III* bolt action rifle chambered in .303 British. The firearm features a blued finish and has been modified with an aftermarket black polymer sporter stock that includes a textured grip area and a black rubber recoil pad with a woven pattern. It is equipped with a detachable box magazine, a ramped front sight with a yellow-painted insert, and a rear aperture sight. Key markings include the model designation SHTLE III* and the date 1944 on the left side of the receiver collar, which also bears a crown over GP, the letter P, and the FTR stamp for Factory Thorough Repair. Barrel and receiver shank markings specify the caliber as .303 2.222, a proof of 18.5 TONS, the serial number 4596, and the stamps ENGLAND and NP. The front sight is marked OV.H 801 on the side. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The blued finish shows significant wear and thinning throughout, with areas of light surface oxidation and pitting visible on the barrel and receiver. The aftermarket polymer stock exhibits some minor scuffs and surface marks but remains in good functional condition. The action appears to function correctly, though we have not function-tested this firearm. The bore was not inspected.
