Description
This lot consists of sixty .30-30 Winchester centerfire cartridges and one spent casing, presented with six assorted Remington brand ammunition boxes. The collection includes three Remington Kleanbore Express boxes featuring Du Pont branding, consisting of one 150 grain soft point Core-Lokt and two 170 grain soft point Core-Lokt loads. Also included are one Remington High Velocity box, one Remington Core-Lokt 75th Anniversary commemorative box marked U.S. Made Since 1939, and one Remington Hi-Speed box. The physical count reveals 59 live cartridges and one spent casing distributed across three trays. Headstamps transcribed from the brass include R-P 30-30 WIN, REM-UMC 30-30, HORNADY 30-30 WIN, and WESTERN 30-30, indicating a mixed assortment of manufacturers and loads that do not necessarily correspond to the original box labeling. The cartridges feature various projectile types including soft point and jacketed hollow point designs. The boxes are partially filled and show evidence of mixed contents from different production eras.
Condition report:
The ammunition boxes exhibit significant shelf wear, including edge fraying, surface staining, and minor tearing to the cardboard flaps. The cartridges display varying degrees of age-related tarnish and surface oxidation on the brass casings and lead projectiles. One casing in the bottom tray is spent and lacks a projectile. The remaining 59 cartridges appear to be live rounds, though they have not been function-tested and are sold as collectible items with no guarantee of performance or safety.
