Description

This single-action conversion revolver is a modern reproduction of the Model 1851 Richards-Mason conversion manufactured by Uberti and marketed by Taylor’s & Co. as The Lawdawg Engraved. Chambered in .45 Colt, the firearm features an 8-inch octagonal barrel and a six-shot cylinder. The metal surfaces exhibit a deep blued finish with extensive floral and scroll engraving across the barrel, cylinder, frame, and backstrap, complemented by a case-hardened hammer and a polished brass trigger guard. The revolver is fitted with smooth off-white imitation ivory grips. Key markings include the top of the barrel marked TAYLOR’S & CO. WINCHESTER VA – A.UBERTI ITALY and the left side of the barrel stamped 45 COLT. The left side of the barrel lug and the cylinder display Italian proof marks including a star-over-shield and CIP over N. The bottom of the grip frame is stamped with the serial number X51309 and CAT. 15343. The lot includes the original Taylor’s & Co. cardboard box, a black padded soft case, an A. Uberti instruction manual, and a small black tool. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.

Condition report:

The revolver appears to be in excellent, like-new condition with nearly all of the deep blued finish remaining. The engraving is sharp and well-defined. The bore is bright with crisp rifling. The action appears to function correctly, though we have not function-tested this firearm. The imitation ivory grips are in excellent condition with no visible wear or damage. The original box shows some light shelf wear.
