Description
This collection consists of 5 vintage automatic fly fishing reels manufactured by Perrine Mfg. Co. and Aladdin Labs, Inc. of Minneapolis, Minnesota. The assortment includes various metal reels with gold-toned, dark green, and silver-toned finishes. Visible model numbers include two No. 51 reels, one No. 55 reel, and one No. 85 reel. Stamped markings on the reel housings include Perrine Automatic Fly Reel, Made in U.S.A., and Pat. No. 1810573. Most units are equipped with a side lever featuring a textured orange plastic tip, while the green No. 55 model features a plain metal lever. The silver-toned reel is marked with Perrine Mfg. Co., Minneapolis, Minn. and mentions other patents pending.
Condition report:
The collection shows signs of age and previous use. Surface scratches, finish wear, and minor pitting are visible on the metal housings. The green No. 85 reel exhibits more significant surface wear and pitting compared to the other units. The orange plastic lever tips show minor wear and dirt. Mechanical components have not been tested for operation.
