Ithaca Model 49 Saddlegun Lever Action Rifle .22 Caliber
Sold for: $225
Description
This Ithaca Model 49 Saddlegun is a single-shot lever-action rifle chambered for .22 caliber Short, Long, and Long Rifle cartridges. The rifle features a round blued steel barrel accompanied by a decorative dummy magazine tube located beneath the barrel to provide the aesthetic of a traditional repeating lever-action firearm. The receiver, lever, and barrel band are finished in a black coating. The furniture consists of a two-piece wood stock and forend with a high-gloss, orange-toned finish and dark staining applied to accentuate the grain. The rifle is equipped with a fixed front post sight and an adjustable rear notch sight. A black polymer buttplate with Ithaca markings is fitted to the rear of the stock. Verbatim markings on the barrel include M-49 .22 CAL. SHORT, LONG, LONG RIFLE and ITHACA GUN CO., INC., ITHACA, N.Y., MADE IN U.S.A. The serial number 272263 is stamped on the left side of the receiver. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The blued barrel shows light surface oxidation across its exterior. The black finish on the receiver, lever, and barrel band exhibits visible wear, including various scratches and finish loss along the edges and high points. The wood stock and forend show minor dings and a small chip at the heel where the wood meets the buttplate. The Ithaca-marked buttplate shows surface scuffing and wear. The action appears to function correctly, though we have not function-tested this firearm. The bore was not inspected.
