Description
This lot consists of three 16 oz. (1 lb.) metal canisters of GOEX brand Cartridge grade black rifle powder, totaling 3 LBS total of propellant. These canisters are specifically labeled for use in black powder metallic cartridge rifles and feature the red, black, and white lithographed labels characteristic of the brand. The front of each tin is marked GOEX Black Rifle Powder, American-Made Since 1912, and The Authentic Propellant. Verbatim manufacturer markings on the reverse of one canister identify the producer as GOEX, Inc. – Explosives Division, Belin Plant, 1002 Springbrook Ave. – Moosic, Pennsylvania, 18507, U.S.A. The other two canisters are marked as Manufactured By GOEX, Inc. (LAAP) – Hwy. 80, Gate 4, Area G – Minden, LA 71055. Each canister retains its original black screw-top metal cap. Note – As an antique or black powder firearm, this item does not require a background check.
Condition report:
The canisters show visible signs of age and shelf wear. The lithographed labels exhibit surface scuffs, minor scratches, and some oxidation. Significant rusting and corrosion are present along the bottom seams and lower edges of the center and right canisters, while the left canister shows more moderate oxidation. All three original metal caps are present. The powder has not been inspected for moisture or degradation, and the canisters are sold as-is.
