Description
This Winchester Model 94AE is a lever-action carbine chambered in .44 Remington Magnum, featuring a 20-inch barrel and a full-length tubular magazine. The firearm is finished in a deep factory bluing on the receiver, barrel, and magazine tube, complemented by a smooth, straight-grip walnut stock and matching wooden forend. It is equipped with a factory-installed saddle ring on the left side of the receiver, a ramped front sight, and an adjustable semi-buckhorn rear sight. The butt is fitted with a black checkered composite buttplate. Key markings include the model and caliber designation on the left side of the barrel, which reads WINCHESTER ® MODEL 94AE CAL. 44 REM. MAG. followed by MADE IN NEW HAVEN, CONN. U.S.A. WINCHESTER PROOF STEEL. A WP proof mark within an oval is stamped on the top of the barrel. The serial number 6200224 is clearly visible on the underside of the receiver. The buttplate is embossed with the Winchester logo and text reading WINCHESTER TRADEMARKS LICENSED FROM OLIN CORP. and U.S. REPEATING ARMS COMPANY. Condition report:
The carbine is in very good overall condition. The blued finish remains largely intact with only light handling marks and minor surface wear consistent with careful use. The walnut furniture is well-preserved, showing a few minor dings and impressions but no cracks or significant damage. The bore has not been internally inspected but the exterior suggests a well-maintained firearm. The lever action appears to function correctly and smoothly, though we have not function-tested this firearm with live ammunition. The composite buttplate shows minor wear at the heel and toe.
