Description

This lot consists of a total of 112 centerfire handgun cartridges in various calibers and loadings, primarily .44 Remington Magnum and .44 S&W Special. The collection is organized into two green plastic flip-top storage cases, a white styrofoam tray, and one original Smith & Wesson cardboard box originally intended for 20 .44 Magnum cartridges. The first green case contains 50 rounds (49 in slots and 1 loose), largely .44 Remington Magnum with mixed headstamps including Federal (F C), Remington-Peters (R-P), Winchester (SUPER-X), Norma, and REM-UMC, along with a small number of .45 Colt and .44 S&W Special rounds. The second green case contains 49 rounds (48 in slots and 1 loose), mostly .44 S&W Special with headstamps from Winchester (W-W, W R A, WESTERN), Remington-Peters (R-P), REM-UMC, and CCI on nickel-plated cases. The final section includes 13 cartridges (12 in a styrofoam tray and 1 loose) with S&W .44 MAG headstamps. The assortment features a variety of bullet types, including lead round nose and jacketed soft point projectiles. Key markings on the headstamps include F C 44 REM MAG, R-P 44 REM MAG, SUPER-X 44 REM MAG, NORMA 44 MAGNUM, REM-UMC 44 MAGNUM, R-P 45 COLT, R-P 44 S&W SPL, W-W 44 S&W SPL, W R A 44 S&W SPL, WESTERN 44 S&W SPL, and S&W 44 MAG.

Condition report:

The ammunition exhibits varying degrees of surface tarnish and oxidation on the brass and nickel-plated cases. Several lead projectiles show signs of white oxidation. The Smith & Wesson cardboard box is in worn condition with significant scuffing, edge wear, and partial tearing to the flaps. The plastic storage cases show light handling wear but remain functional. The cartridges appear to be a mix of factory loads and potential handloads; they are sold as collectible components and have not been function tested.
