Lot 1290:
Description
This Connecticut Valley Arms (CVA) Stag Horn Magnum is a bolt-action style inline muzzleloading rifle chambered in .50 caliber. The rifle features a blued barrel with a 1:28 twist rate and is equipped with an under-barrel ramrod. The barreled action is set into a black synthetic stock featuring a raised cheekpiece, a rubber recoil pad embossed with the CVA logo, and textured grip panels on the wrist and forend. Key markings on the left side of the barrel include BPI-CONNECTICUT VALLEY ARMS, MADE IN SPAIN Black Powder Only, STAG HORN MAGNUM, and .50 Cal. 1:28 TWIST. The serial number 61-13-190383-02 is clearly stamped on the barrel along with Spanish proof marks and a 700Kp/cm2 pressure notation. Sighting is handled by a set of fiber-optic iron sights with a green rear and orange front element, supplemented by a rail-mounted Bushnell scope with a duplex reticle. A pair of lens caps on a string is also included with the lot. Note – As an antique or black powder firearm, this item does not require a background check.
Condition report:
The exterior blued finish shows significant surface rust and oxidation spotting across the barrel, with the heaviest concentration near the muzzle. The bore was not inspected. The black synthetic stock remains in good condition with minor scuffs and handling wear consistent with use. The bolt-action style ignition system appears to function mechanically, though the rifle has not been function-tested. The Bushnell scope optics appear clear, and the fiber-optic sights are intact. The included lens caps are present and functional.
