Description
This Sako L61R Finnbear is a bolt-action sporting rifle chambered in .300 Magnum intended for big game hunting. The rifle features a blued barrel and receiver mounted in a one-piece walnut stock with a Monte Carlo comb, a pistol grip with a white-line spacer and cap, and a forend featuring a decorative diagonal white inlay. Technical specifications include a hooded front sight, a rear sight base, and two scope rings mounted to the receiver. The butt is fitted with a brown rubber recoil pad. Key markings include the manufacturer name SAKO and the serial number 106963 on the left side of the barrel near the receiver. The top-left side of the barrel is stamped .300 MAGNUM and the right side is marked MADE IN FINLAND. The recoil pad is marked MERSHON CO. INC. LOS ANGELES, CALIF. U.S.A. WHITE LINE DE LUXE. Condition report:
The metal components retain a deep blued finish with minor thinning and light scratches visible on the barrel and receiver. The wooden stock shows typical handling marks, dings, and light scratches consistent with moderate field use. The action appears to function correctly, though we have not function-tested this firearm. The recoil pad remains intact but shows some hardening and wear consistent with age.
