Description
This Mossberg Model 500E is a pump-action shotgun chambered for .410 bore 2 1/2 and 3-inch shells, configured for home defense. The firearm features an 18 1/2-inch barrel equipped with a ported muzzle and a brass bead front sight. The metal surfaces exhibit a blued finish, and the receiver is fitted with a top-mounted tang safety. The shotgun is specialized with a black polymer pistol grip and a matching black polymer forend that includes an integrated vertical grip for enhanced control. It is further equipped with a side-folding black polymer buttstock, which currently hosts a black GunMate elastic shell carrier. Key markings include the bottom of the receiver stamped Mossberg MADE IN USA NORTH HAVEN, CONN. 500E .410 BORE and the left side of the receiver bearing the serial number L274962. Barrel markings specify MOSSBERG CHAMBERED FOR 2 1/2 AND 3 IN. SHELLS — 410 BORE — 18 1/2 IN. HOME SECURITY along with a circled P proof mark near the receiver. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The blued finish shows light surface scratches and minor handling wear consistent with moderate use. The polymer furniture, including the pistol grip, vertical forend, and folding stock, remains in good condition with only minor scuffs. The bore is bright and free of significant pitting or obstruction. The action appears to function correctly when cycled; however, we have not function-tested this firearm with live ammunition.
