Description
This lot features a Remington Mohawk-48 semi-automatic shotgun chambered in 12 gauge. These firearms are configured for 2 3/4-inch or shorter shells and utilize barrels with modified chokes. The metal components feature a blued finish on the receivers and barrels, accented by gold-colored triggers. The furniture consists of checkered wood stocks and forends with a gloss finish, ending in black synthetic Remington-branded buttplates. Key markings include the model designation Mohawk-48 and the serial number 5263352 on the receiver. Barrel markings specify Mohawk-48 REMINGTON ARMS CO. INC., ILION, N.Y. MADE IN U.S.A. along with 12 GA. FOR 2 3/4 OR SHORTER SHELLS and MOD. Proof marks include R.E.P. inside an oval, a four-pointed star, and date codes EU 42. The shotguns are accompanied by a green canvas and brown leather soft case featuring a leather patch marked BOYT. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The firearms are in used condition. The blued finish on the barrels and receivers shows thinning and light scratches from handling. The polished bolts and charging handles exhibit visible surface rust and pitting. The wooden stocks and forends show minor dings, impressions, and finish wear. The bores were not inspected. The actions appear to function correctly, though we have not function-tested these firearms. The Boyt soft case shows scuffing on the leather and light wear to the canvas.
