Description
This lot consists of four vintage cardboard boxes designed for centerfire pistol and revolver cartridges, including two boxes labeled Winchester Western with the Super-X WW logo and two labeled Western with the Super-X logo. Each box is marked for a 50-round capacity. One box contains a mixed assortment of 51 loose .38 Special cartridges featuring nickel-plated casings and lead round nose projectiles. Key markings on the boxes include WINCHESTER Western, Western, Super-X, and 50 CENTER FIRE PISTOL – REVOLVER CARTRIDGES. Visible headstamps on the included ammunition include WESTERN 38 SPECIAL, W-W 38 SPECIAL, R-P 38 SPL, SPEER 38 SPECIAL, FEDERAL 38 SPECIAL, S&W 38 SPL, and SUPER-W 38 SPL. Some primers display red sealant, and the cartridges represent a variety of manufacturers and potential load types.
Condition report:
The cardboard boxes exhibit moderate shelf wear consistent with age, including scuffed edges, minor corner tears, and general yellowing of the paper stock. One box features the handwritten number 186 on the upper right corner. The ammunition appears to be in functional condition with some oxidation to the lead projectiles and minor tarnish on the nickel-plated casings. The cartridges appear to be live rounds.
