The Beeman 1783 Silver Bear is a break-barrel air rifle chambered in .177 caliber (4.5 mm) designed for recreational target shooting. This rifle features a dark finished barrel fitted with a blue-anodized, ribbed muzzle device and a black composite receiver. The furniture consists of a brown textured polymer stock with a Monte Carlo-style cheekpiece, checkering on the forend and grip, and a rubberized buttpad with a white spacer. Key markings include the manufacturer’s name “BEEMAN” in white on the right side of the receiver, with molded text reading “1783 SILVER BEAR”, “HUNTINGTON BEACH CALIF. USA PAT. 3,903,636”, the serial number “030504745”, and a safety warning directing the user to read the owner’s manual from S/R Industries, Inc. The left side of the receiver bears the “BEEMAN” logo and the molded caliber marking “.177 cal / 4.5 mm”. This item is missing its original front and rear sights and is offered without additional accessories. Note – As an antique or black powder firearm, this item does not require a background check.
Condition report:
The overall condition is fair to good. The barrel finish exhibits visible surface oxidation and greenish spotting along its length, while the blue-anodized muzzle device shows minor nicks and edge wear. The black composite receiver and brown polymer stock show minor scuffs and scratches consistent with handling and use. The action appears to function correctly with a firm lockup, though the firearm has not been function-tested. The bore was not inspected.
