Description
This lot consists of 80 rounds of match-grade .308 ammunition, comprising centerfire, bottlenecked rifle cartridges with brass cases and copper-jacketed bullets. The cartridges are organized on metal stripper clips and contained within a clear plastic bag. Key markings include the headstamp designations L, C, 6, 8, and the word MATCH, which identifies the production as 7.62x51mm NATO match-grade cartridges manufactured at the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant in 1968. The brass cases exhibit visible annealing marks at the shoulder and neck, a characteristic of the manufacturing process for these military-contract rounds. The ammunition is designed for precision use in rifles chambered for .308 or 7.62x51mm NATO.
Condition report:
The ammunition is in surplus condition, with the brass cases and copper jackets showing visible surface oxidation, tarnishing, and scattered spots of verdigris.
