Description
This Smith & Wesson .38 Safety Hammerless 4th Model is a double-action top-break revolver chambered for the .38 S&W cartridge, featuring the integrated grip safety on the backstrap often referred to as a Lemon Squeezer. The firearm is configured with a 4-inch barrel and a five-shot cylinder, featuring a nickel-plated finish and mother-of-pearl grips. Key markings include the manufacturer and patent dates on the barrel rib transcribed as SMITH & WESSON SPRINGFIELD MASS. U.S.A. PAT’D OCT. 2 1883 / AUG. 4 1885. APRIL 9 1889. The left side of the barrel is marked S. & W. CTG. and the right side of the frame bears the circular Smith & Wesson TRADE MARK logo. The serial number 157689 followed by a five-pointed star is stamped on the butt of the frame, with the matching number 157689 visible on the rear face of the cylinder. The star mark indicates a factory refinish or repair. The firearm is missing a magazine and no optics or other accessories are present. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
