Description
This collection includes a variety of shooting competition awards, industry belt buckles, and embroidered patches primarily from the late 1960s through the late 1970s. Featured is a Weatherby commemorative belt buckle made of bronze alloy, depicting an elephant and a bolt-action rifle, housed in its original red velvet-lined display box marked Symbol of Superiority. A second brass-toned oval buckle features the Federal Ammunition logo with a flying mallard duck.
The collection contains an assortment of competition medals, many associated with the East Texas Rifle and Pistol Club, the National Rifle Association (NRA), and the Caddo Rifle and Pistol Club. These medals feature various achievement bars for events such as Bench Rest, Hunter’s Match, 200 Yards, and .22 caliber Slow Fire, with dates ranging from 1969 to 1975. An acrylic desk award is also included, featuring an embedded silver-toned medal from the East Texas Rifle and Pistol Club dated 1969 for Small Bore Merit.
Embroidered patches in the lot represent various industry brands and organizations, including a large Bass Anglers Sportsman Society (B.A.S.S.) patch, Federal Ammunition, Ithacagun, and Remington. Competition-specific patches include 1979 International Handgun Metallic Silhouette Association (IHMSA) state team patches and a 1978 Sharon Skeeters State Champion patch. Additional items include two red circular weighted display bases with silver-toned eagle and rifle insignias and a small pin in a protective card holder.
Condition report:
The items are in good vintage condition. Metal components show light oxidation and surface wear consistent with age. Embroidered patches exhibit minor fraying at the edges. The acrylic award and display boxes show typical surface scuffing.
