Lot 1521:
Rohm Attributed Official Sports Starter Double Action Revolver Starter Pistol .22 Caliber with 2.5 Inch Barrel
Sold for: $35
Description
This German-manufactured double-action starter pistol is configured as a revolver with a swing-out cylinder and is chambered for .22 caliber 6mm crimped blanks. The metal barrel measures approximately 2.5 inches and features a vent hole on the top surface to prevent the discharge of projectiles. The frame and cylinder are finished in black, complemented by black checkered polymer grips that include a circular medallion marked START. Key markings include the model designation OFFICIAL SPORTS STARTER on the left side of the barrel and MADE IN GERMANY on the right side. The top strap is stamped FOR CAL. 22 – 6 mm CRIMPED BLANKS ONLY. A notable modification is present on the right grip panel, which is wrapped in orange tape to secure the furniture. Note – As an antique or black powder firearm, this item does not require a background check.
Condition report:
The black finish exhibits significant wear throughout, characterized by scratches, thinning, and areas of complete finish loss on the frame, cylinder, and barrel. The action appears to function correctly in double-action mode, and the cylinder cycles and swings out, though we have not function-tested this item. The polymer grips show moderate wear to the checkering, and the right panel is currently secured with orange adhesive tape.
