Description
The Ithaca Model 49 is a lever-action single-shot carbine chambered for .22 caliber Short, Long, or Long Rifle cartridges, designed to resemble a traditional western repeating rifle. This firearm features an 18-inch barrel and an alloy receiver with a black finish, complemented by a gold-tone trigger and hammer. The furniture consists of a wooden stock and forend with front and rear sling swivels and a black synthetic buttplate. Sighting is provided by a fixed front sight and an adjustable rear leaf sight. Key markings include the model designation “M-49 .22 CAL. SHORT, LONG, LONG RIFLE” and the manufacturer information “ITHACA GUN CO., INC., ITHACA, N.Y., MADE IN U.S.A.” stamped on the barrel. The left side of the receiver is stamped with the serial number “127718”. The buttplate is embossed with “ITHACA GUN CO. INC.” at the base. Significant damage is noted on the forend, which shows heavy splintering and wood loss at the receiver junction, with visible adhesive residue from a previous repair attempt. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The firearm is in poor condition. The receiver finish exhibits widespread scuffing, scratches, and significant finish loss, along with areas of surface oxidation. The barrel finish shows thinning and general wear. The wooden furniture is heavily damaged; the forend has substantial wood loss and splintering on both sides where it meets the receiver, and the buttstock has numerous surface scratches and a small chip missing from the toe. The bore has not been inspected. The action appears to function correctly, though we have not function-tested this firearm.
