Description
This group of ammunition reloading equipment is manufactured by Lyman Products Corp. of Middlefield, Connecticut. The collection includes a Lyman Universal Power Case Trimmer featuring an orange-painted cast metal body and a black motor housing. The trimmer is mounted to a rectangular particle board base and includes a black spherical plastic handle. The motor housing bears a label with the text Lyman Power Universal Trimmer and the manufacturer address at Rt. 147, Middlefield, CT 06455. The cast base also features the Lyman name in cursive script. Also included is a manual single-stage reloading press with an orange-painted cast metal body and a steel handle with a black textured grip. The press is mounted to an aluminum plate stamped LYMAN which is bolted to a heavy rectangular steel base. A small double-ended Lyman specialty wrench is also present. The styling and zip code on the manufacturer label indicate production from the late 20th century.
Condition report:
The items are in used condition with visible surface dust and grime throughout. The adhesive label on the power trimmer shows wear and edge loss. Significant surface oxidation and rust are present on the unpainted steel handle of the press and the heavy steel base plate. The power trimmer includes a cord, but the motor is untested and the working status is unknown.
