Description
This collection features vintage metal containers manufactured by the Hodgdon Powder Company for the storage of smokeless gunpowder. The assortment includes both rectangular and cylindrical cone-top canisters constructed from tin-plated steel, some with paper-wrapped bodies. The tins bear the stylized H logo of the Hodgdon brand and include various safety warnings and labels. Specific powder references such as H4227 and 4895 are visible through label fragments or hand-written markings. The containers are fitted with a variety of screw-on metal and plastic caps. This lot contains Approx 6 LBS Of Unknown Mixed Gun Powder.

The items are in as-found condition, exhibiting significant oxidation and heavy rusting on the metal surfaces. Paper labels are heavily worn, torn, or largely missing across the collection.
