Description
This lot features two precision machinist measuring instruments. The first is a Central Tool Company No. 272 plunger-style dial indicator. This metal instrument features a metric dial with 0.01mm graduations, a primary dial graduated from 0 to 2.5, and a secondary revolution counter graduated from 0 to 25. The dial face is printed with a target-style logo and the text Central Tool Company, No. 272, and .01 MM. It is housed in its original cardboard retail box labeled Dial Indicator with styrofoam inserts and includes a paper insert marked Made in China. The second instrument is a lever-type dial test indicator of unmarked manufacture. The white dial face is marked Jeweled and .0005 with a bidirectional imperial scale graduated to 0.0005 inches and a range of 0-15-0. The metal body includes a swiveling contact point and dovetail mounts. It is contained within a blue plastic hinged case with a foam interior and includes one mounting attachment.
Condition report:
The Central Tool Company dial indicator appears to be in new-old-stock, unused condition, remaining in its original plastic wrap. Minor surface oxidation is present on the exposed steel plunger shaft. The dial test indicator shows signs of light professional use with a clear dial face and crystal. Mechanical function and calibration have not been tested for either instrument.
