Description
This Thompson/Center Arms Contender is a first generation flat-side single shot break action pistol chambered in .357 Magnum. The firearm is equipped with a 10 inch blued steel barrel and a matching blued receiver featuring the early flat-side frame design. The furniture consists of a checkered walnut wood forearm and a matching pistol grip accented by an ornate silver-tone decorative grip cap with a rope-style border. The pistol is fitted with an adjustable rear target sight and a fixed ramped front sight. Key markings include the barrel roll-mark THOMPSON : CENTER ARMS ROCHESTER, N. H. and the caliber designation 357 MAG. The serial number 1256 is stamped on the frame behind the hammer. This early production model is consistent with the flat-side first Gen. Thompson contender specifications. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The firearm is in good overall condition with the blued finish showing light wear and minor surface scratches on the receiver. The walnut wood forearm and grip exhibit minor handling marks while the checkering remains distinct and well-defined. The silver-tone decorative grip cap shows some tarnish consistent with age. The bore is bright with strong rifling. The action appears to function correctly, though we have not function-tested this firearm.
