Gun Collectors Dream Auction #83 May 2nd & 3rd TWO DAYS - NO RESERVES - 1200 LOTS!
Lot 265:
Sold for: $45
Description
This lot consists of a pair of Lee Auto-Prime hand-actuated priming tools designed for manual ammunition reloading. Each unit features a chrome-plated cast metal body with a hand lever mechanism intended for seating primers into cartridge cases. The sets include a total of four circular black plastic primer trays with concentric ribbing, designed to orient primers for feeding, and two translucent yellow plastic covers. The tools are accompanied by their original cardboard packaging from Lee Precision, Inc., Hartford, Wisconsin. Key markings on the boxes include the product name Auto-Prime and the manufacturer address Lee Precision, Inc., Hartford, Wisconsin 53027, along with the text Includes Primer Trays and Punches for Both Large and Small Primers. The tools themselves feature the Lee logo cast into the lever, and the tray covers are embossed with the warning Use Only With Safety Glasses. These tools require caliber-specific shell holders for operation, which are not included in this lot.
Condition report:
The chrome finish on the tool bodies shows visible signs of use, including surface pitting, oxidation, and wear concentrated at the pivot points and along the levers. The black plastic trays appear structurally sound with no visible cracks, though they show minor residue from previous use. The translucent yellow covers exhibit some yellowing and light surface scratching. The original cardboard boxes show significant shelf wear, including staining, edge fraying, and minor crushing consistent with age and storage. The mechanical actions of the levers appear to function, though they have not been tested with live primers.
