Sold for: $85
Description
This lot features a Specialty Products Co. SPC Retriev-R-Trainer gun dog training kit presented in a black textured plastic carrying case. The primary component is a handheld, single-shot dummy launcher constructed of cast and machined aluminum with a 4 inch barrel probe and a black foam-cushioned grip. The launcher is designed for use with .22 caliber blanks to propel training dummies for retriever training. Included in the set is one cylindrical canvas-covered training dummy with a red cord streamer, which shows minor field soiling. Ammunition is provided in one yellow box of Vawter Ammunition Inc. Power Level Yellow .22 caliber blanks, indicated as a 100-count box. A white plastic accessory jar with a black lid contains additional maintenance items, including a cleaning brush, a tube of lubricant marked Item No. 21010, and various small components in plastic bags. The case is fitted with a metal identification plate that reads verbatim SPC RETRIEV-R-TRAINER GUN DOG TRAINING KIT, Specialty Products Co., Easton, MD 21601. The launcher does not exhibit a visible serial number on its exterior surfaces.
Condition report:
The launcher is in good condition, showing typical signs of light use with minor surface marks on the aluminum. The foam grip is intact and supple. The canvas dummy shows expected field soiling and staining from use. The ammunition box is open with some wear to the edges, and the blanks appear clean and free of corrosion. The accessory jar and its contents are in good order, though the cleaning brush shows some light use. The plastic case is structurally sound with functional latches and some external scuffing. We have not function-tested this device.
