Description
This Spanish-made double-action revolver features a swing-out six-shot cylinder and a design based on the Smith & Wesson Hand Ejector pattern. The firearm is equipped with an approximately 6-inch barrel and a knurled ejector rod. Chambered in .38 Special. a clone of the famous Smith & Wesson Model 10. The metal surfaces exhibit a dark brown and gray patina with widespread surface oxidation and light pitting consistent with long-term use. The revolver is fitted with checkered, light-colored grips, likely an early synthetic material or bone, featuring dark diamond-shaped overlays and inset circular medallions. Sighting is provided by a fixed front blade and a rear frame notch. Key markings include the manufacturer’s name on the top of the barrel, transcribed verbatim as GARATE ANITUA & CIA-Eibar (ESPANA). The left side of the frame, behind the cylinder, displays an engraved logo of a leaping feline over the words MARCA REGISTRADA. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The revolver is in fair overall condition, showing significant age-related wear. The original finish has transitioned to a heavy dark brown and gray patina with visible surface oxidation and light pitting throughout the frame, cylinder, and barrel. The bore was not inspected but is likely consistent with the exterior condition. The double-action mechanism appears to function, and the cylinder swings out correctly, though the firearm has not been function-tested for safety or mechanical timing. The checkered grips show wear and discoloration but remain structurally sound.
