Description

This Marlin Model 1893 is a lever-action rifle chambered in .30-30 caliber, featuring a round barrel and a full-length tubular magazine. The rifle is equipped with a front blade sight and an adjustable rear ladder sight. The furniture consists of a smooth wood stock and forend that features a high-gloss finish, likely a later reapplication, and a crescent-shaped metal buttplate. Key markings include the model designation MODEL 1893 on the upper tang and the serial number B2938 on the underside of the frame. The top of the receiver is marked MARLIN SAFETY within decorative scrollwork, and the barrel is stamped SPECIAL SMOKELESS STEEL flanked by small diamond symbols. A small hairline crack is present on the right side of the forend wood near the receiver junction. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.

Condition report:

The metal finish shows a mix of thinning original bluing and a significant developed brown patina with visible surface oxidation and light pitting, particularly on the receiver and magazine tube. The wood stock and forend exhibit scattered dings and scratches consistent with age, and the high-gloss finish appears to be a later addition. The crescent-shaped metal buttplate shows surface rust and retains a partial white adhesive label with the handwritten number 213. The action appears to function correctly, but we have not function-tested this firearm. The bore was not inspected.
