Description
This collection consists of 4 leather items of varying ages and styles. The first item is a contemporary Roots Canada bi-fold wallet crafted from dark brown smooth leather. It features a front flap with a silver-tone snap closure and an exterior zippered coin pocket on the reverse. The back of the wallet is embossed with an oval mark reading GENUINE MADE IN Roots CANADA LEATHER. The second item is an antique black leather document holder or folio featuring an ornate silver-tone metal locking clasp with a visible keyhole on the front flap. This piece is consistent in style with mid-19th century European banker or accountant folios. The third item is a tooled and stained leather wallet or cover. The front displays a red diamond-shaped panel with an embossed heraldic motif over a natural tan textured background, while the reverse is decorated with a dense foliate scroll pattern in tan and brown tones. The fourth item is a long folding wallet or checkbook cover made of black grained leather with a single snap closure.
Condition report:
The Roots wallet is in good used condition with small green oxidation marks on the leather near the rear zipper and logo. The antique document holder is in fair condition, showing significant age-related wear including leather cracking, surface loss, and fraying at the edges and corners. The tooled leather wallet is in good condition with rubbing and wear to the edges and stained surfaces. The long folding wallet is in fair to good condition with heavy creasing and surface scuffing
