Sold for: $20
Description
A wooden gun maintenance and cleaning vise designed for securing rifles or shotguns during service, attributed to Decker Shooting Products or Fort Sandflat. The unit is constructed from solid wood and features a large rectangular base with a raised perimeter trim. The stand includes a fixed front support with a U-shaped notch and an adjustable rear vise mechanism. Both contact points are padded with thick, sheepskin-style fleece to protect the firearm finish. The vise is operated by a threaded metal rod and a large, scalloped star-shaped cast metal adjustment knob. No manufacturer marks or serial numbers are visible on the item.
Condition report:
The wood surfaces show signs of age and practical use, including various scuffs, scratches, and minor staining. The fleece padding exhibits matting and light soiling consistent with contact with oils and solvents. The metal adjustment mechanism appears functional.
