Description
This single-shot break-action dart rifle was manufactured by New England Firearms Co. Inc. for Palmer Chemical & Equipment Co. Inc. and is chambered in 32 Gauge Special with a 25-inch blued barrel. The projector features a color case-hardened receiver, an exposed hammer, an adjustable rear leaf sight, and a brass bead front sight. The furniture consists of a smooth wood stock and forearm with a black synthetic buttplate featuring the NEF logo. Key markings on the left side of the receiver include CAP-CHUR POWDER PROJECTOR PALMER CHEMICAL & EQUIPMENT CO. INC. DOUGLASVILLE, GEORGIA U.S.A. PAT. NO. 3022785. The right side of the receiver is marked MADE BY NEW ENGLAND FIREARMS CO. INC. GARDNER, MASS. U.S.A. along with PAT. NO. 3988848 and the serial number ND203579. The barrel is marked 32 GAUGE SPECIAL. This lot includes one metal dart projector adapter. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The firearm is in good overall condition. The blued finish on the barrel shows minor wear and small spots of surface oxidation near the muzzle, while the receiver retains strong color case-hardening. The wood stock and forearm show various scuffs, dings, and scratches consistent with use. The action appears to function correctly, but we have not function-tested this firearm.
