Chinese State Factory 296 Type 53 Bolt Action Carbine 7.62x54mmR 1954
Sold for: $300
Description
This Chinese Type 53 bolt action carbine is a licensed production copy of the Soviet Mosin-Nagant M44, chambered for the 7.62x54mmR caliber. The firearm features a blued finish with visible concentric machining marks on the barrel and is mounted in a smooth-finished wood stock with an internal box magazine, two sling eyelets, and a metal buttplate. The barrel is equipped with a hooded post front sight and an adjustable rear tangent sight. Key markings on the barrel shank include the numbers 2, 9, and 6 within a partial rectangular border, followed by the Chinese characters 五, 三, 年, and 式, the date 1954.12., and the serial number 1304228. Additional stamps include a capital H, a circled upward-pointing arrow, and a triangle containing the number 2. The bolt handle is marked with a small triangle and the digits 113. An import mark on the receiver bridge reads RIDGEFIELD, N.J. Please note that the folding bayonet and its associated barrel lug are not present, though the stock retains the original relief cut for the bayonet. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The carbine is in overall very good condition. The blued finish remains largely intact, showing only light thinning
