Description
This is a vintage RCBS A2 single-stage manual reloading press designed for precision ammunition assembly. The unit features a robust O-frame design constructed of heavy cast metal with a textured olive drab green finish. It utilizes a compound linkage system to actuate a cylindrical steel ram, providing significant mechanical advantage for resizing and seating operations. The top of the frame contains a threaded circular opening for standard reloading dies, and the front includes an integrated mounting plate for secure bench attachment. A long, unpainted steel lever handle with a black spherical composite knob is included. Key markings include the manufacturer’s name RCBS cast in relief on the side of the lower frame. This lot is sold as the press unit only; it is missing reloading dies, shell holders, and a primer catcher.
Condition report:
The press is in used condition, showing finish wear and oxidation consistent with age and shop use. The cast frame retains a significant portion of its original green textured finish with some scuffs and minor chips. The steel ram and linkage components exhibit surface wear. The unpainted steel lever handle and parts of the lower linkage show visible surface rust and pitting. The mechanical action appears to move freely, though it has not been tested with dies or live components. The mounting plate shows signs of surface oxidation and previous mounting wear.
