Description
This lot consists of a collection of firearm components and technical documentation for the Sharps Model 1874 rifle. The documentation includes a multi-page set of technical drawings and blueprints produced by Tools International, Inc. of Gilmer, Texas, dated February 4, 1997. The drawings are titled Main Assembly Sharps 1874 and include a detailed parts list with stock numbers. The physical components comprise various steel parts in an unfinished state, including a receiver frame, finger levers, hammers, triggers, breechblock components, and numerous internal mechanism parts. Smaller hardware including pins, screws, and springs are organized within a partitioned plastic case and various labeled bags. Also included is a Mead multi-subject binder containing reference materials and two large rolled documents, one of which is handwritten with the word Ballard.
Condition report:
The metal components are largely in the white and unfinished. Some parts exhibit minor surface oxidation and are coated in protective grease. The technical drawings and reference materials show typical signs of use, including light yellowing, edge wear, and creasing. The partitioned plastic case is intact.
