Description
This Stevens Crack Shot-26 is a single-shot lever-action rifle chambered for the .22 Long Rifle cartridge. The firearm features a round barrel paired with a smooth wood stock and forend that have been finished with a high-gloss coating. It is equipped with a fixed front blade sight and a dovetail-mounted adjustable rear notch sight, along with a curved metal lever and a curved metal buttplate. Verbatim markings on the top of the barrel include J. STEVENS ARMS COMPANY PAT. APR. 22. 1913. CHICOPEE FALLS MASS U.S.A. along with the caliber designation 22-LONG RIFLE. The left side of the receiver is stamped with a circled I followed by CRACK SHOT – 26, and a circled P proof mark is located on the top of the barrel near the receiver. The action appears to function correctly, but we have not function-tested this firearm. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The barrel retains a good portion of its blued finish with some thinning and light handling marks. The receiver has transitioned to a mottled gray and brown patina with visible surface scratches and areas of light pitting. The wood furniture is in good condition, showing a high-gloss finish with minor dings and scratches consistent with age and use. The bore was not inspected. The metal buttplate and lever show a dark patina and light surface oxidation.
