Description

This lot consists of 67 loose .30-06 Springfield caliber rifle cartridges. The ammunition features bottleneck brass cases loaded with round-nose, unjacketed cast lead projectiles, which suggests these rounds may be hand-loaded or remanufactured using vintage components. Key markings include the headstamp designation DEN over the number 42, indicating the brass was manufactured by the Denver Ordnance Plant in 1942. The primers are silver-toned, and several exhibit a red lacquer sealant around the primer pocket. The cartridges are presented in a clear plastic bag, with seven specimens provided separately for detailed visual inspection.

Condition report:

The ammunition is in mixed condition. The brass cases exhibit varying degrees of age-related tarnish, significant discoloration, and localized spots of green oxidation or verdigris. The cast lead projectiles show signs of surface oxidation and visible white lead bloom. While the primers appear intact and the cartridges are likely live, the overall condition and unknown loading specifications suggest they should be treated as components or display items only.
