Lot 574:
A Bulk Lot of Spent .270 Winchester Cartridge Casings
Sold for: $80
Description
This lot consists of a bulk quantity of spent rifle cartridge casings primarily chambered in .270 Winchester. The collection includes a mixture of standard brass and nickel-plated examples, all housed within a cardboard shipping container. Technical examination of the headstamps reveals manufacture by major American firms, with prominent markings transcribed as R-P 270 WIN for Remington-Peters and WINCHESTER 270 WIN. The casings are in fired condition, featuring indented primers and varying degrees of surface tarnish and oxidation consistent with once-fired brass. These components are suitable for reloading or material recovery. As this lot consists of spent cartridge casings and not functional firearms, it is exempt from standard firearm transfer requirements.
Condition report:
The casings are in spent, once-fired condition. Most exhibit typical surface oxidation, tarnish, and minor dings from bulk storage and handling. Primers are present and show clear firing pin indentations. A small number of nickel-plated casings are present among the standard brass. The interior of the cases shows carbon fouling from discharge. No live rounds were observed during inspection.
