Description
This lot consists of three vintage metal tins of smokeless powder manufactured by Norma Projektilfabrik of Amotfors, Sweden. These rectangular tins feature a distinctive red, black, and white color scheme and are intended for reloading purposes. Two of the tins are clearly marked with the 200 designation and a net weight of 400 grams, while the third tin has a partially obscured lower label. Key markings include the manufacturer name norma SMOKELESS POWDER and the factory location NORMA PROJEKTILFABRIK AMOTFORS – SWEDEN. The reverse of each tin displays safety warnings including DANGER EXTREMELY FLAMMABLE and WARNING KEEP OUT OF THE REACH OF CHILDREN. Additional text on the front includes a notice stating that since the factory has no control of the handling or use of this powder after it leaves the factory, they assume no responsibility in this connection. The lot contains a total measured weight of 2 Lbs 9 Oz Of Powder.
Condition report:
The painted bodies of the tins exhibit various degrees of scuffing, minor scratches, and small spots of paint loss consistent with age and long-term storage. The threaded metal caps show significant surface oxidation and heavy rust. The lithographed labels remain largely legible, though one tin has significant wear to the lower portion of the front label obscuring the weight and type designation. The tins appear to be capped, but the chemical integrity and stability of the powder contents have not been tested.
