Lot 595:
A Collection of 5 Thompson/Center Contender Break-Action Pistol Barrels Various Calibers with Various Lengths for Parts/Repair
Sold for: $400
Description
A collection of five individual barrel assemblies designed for the Thompson/Center Contender break-action pistol system. These barrels feature the characteristic integral under-barrel locking lugs required for the Contender’s break-open design and are of various lengths and calibers. All barrels feature a blued finish. The group includes various sighting configurations: the uppermost barrel is fitted with a Bushnell telescopic sight featuring a white B logo on the turret cap and a front sight base; two barrels feature adjustable rear sights paired with front sight bases; one barrel retains only its front sight base; and one barrel is missing all sighting components. Markings on the barrel flats, which typically indicate the manufacturer and caliber, are present but are currently illegible due to the heavy surface oxidation and rust. These components are being sold as a group for parts or restoration.
Condition report:
The blued finish on all five barrels is in poor condition, exhibiting widespread surface rust, heavy oxidation, and significant pitting across the metal surfaces. The mounting hardware for the Bushnell optic and the various iron sights also show advanced corrosion. Bores have not been internally inspected. The mechanical integrity of the locking lugs appears intact, though they are covered in surface rust.
