Lot 68:
A Group of 5 Remington Model 788 Bolt Action Rifle Magazines .243 Win .308 Win and 7mm-08 Rem
Sold for: $140
Description
This lot consists of a group of five detachable box magazines designed for the Remington Model 788 bolt-action rifle. These magazines are configured for short-action cartridges and typically feature a 3-round capacity. Each magazine is constructed with a stamped steel body finished in a matte black coating, complemented by a black polymer or plastic floorplate and follower. The side of each magazine body is clearly stamped with the compatible calibers in three distinct lines: .243 WIN, .308 WIN, and 7MM-08 REM. These magazines are essential components for the Model 788 series, which is known for its rear-locking lug design and fast lock time. No manufacturer’s logo is present, though the design and markings are consistent with factory or high-quality replacement specifications for this specific rifle model.
Condition report:
The magazines are in good used condition overall. The matte black finish remains largely intact across all five units, showing only minor surface wear, light scuffs, and some superficial scratches consistent with previous use and storage. The polymer floorplates and followers show minimal wear. The internal springs appear to retain functional tension, though the magazines have not been live-fire tested or checked for feeding in a firearm.
