Sold for: $40
Description
This lot comprises 90 centerfire rifle cartridges chambered in .30-06 Springfield, presented with five original commercial ammunition boxes. The collection includes a diverse array of manufacturers and bullet types, featuring one black and gold box from Imperial bearing the iVi logo, one grey Hansen Cartridge Company Posi Feed box, one grey Federal Classic Rifle box, one red American Eagle box, and a vintage white and red Sears Roebuck and Co. box specifically labeled for 150 grain soft point bullets. The cartridges are held in various plastic trays, including black, white, yellow, and red carriers. Prominent headstamps transcribed from the lot include I K 90 30-06, F C 30-06 SPRG, IMPERIAL 30-06 SPRG, WINCHESTER 30-06 SPRG, and military surplus L C markings with various date codes. The ammunition includes both commercial soft point hunting rounds and military-style projectiles, with several rounds featuring red primer sealant.
Condition report:
The physical condition of the ammunition varies across the lot. While some cartridges remain in clean condition with bright brass, others exhibit significant oxidation, surface tarnish, and verdigris, most notably on the military surplus Lake City rounds. The cardboard boxes show typical shelf wear, including scuffed edges, minor creases, and handling marks. The plastic trays are functional but show signs of age. This ammunition is sold as a collectible or for components; the cartridges have not been function-tested.
