Lot 1107:
Richland Arms Co. Kentucky Flintlock Pistol .44 Caliber
Sold for: $250
Description
This is a single-shot muzzle-loading flintlock pistol manufactured in Italy and imported by Richland Arms Co. The firearm is chambered in .44 caliber and features an octagonal barrel with a blued finish. The lock plate and cock exhibit a mottled gray finish with visible areas of surface oxidation and a developing patina. The pistol is mounted in a one-piece wooden stock with a glossy finish and is accented by brass furniture including the side plate, trigger guard, nose cap, and ramrod thimbles. It is equipped with fixed brass front blade and rear notch sights and includes a wooden ramrod with brass tips and a flint secured in the cock. Key markings transcribed verbatim from the barrel flats include RICHLAND ARMS CO., CAL. 44, BLACK POWDER ONLY, and MADE IN ITALY, with an additional .44 stamp located forward of the rear sight. No serial number is visible on the exterior of the firearm. Note – As an antique or black powder firearm, this item does not require a background check.
Condition report:
The barrel bluing shows thinning and wear, particularly concentrated toward the muzzle. The lock assembly displays surface oxidation and a mottled patina consistent with age and use. The wooden stock remains in good condition with minor handling marks and an intact glossy finish. The brass components show a natural tarnish throughout. The action appears to function correctly, though we have not function-tested this firearm. The bore was not inspected.
