This vintage lever-action air rifle is a Daisy Model B, 500-shot variant, manufactured by the Daisy Manufacturing Company of Plymouth, Michigan. The rifle is constructed with a steel barrel and receiver and a carved wooden stock. The top of the receiver features stamped markings that read 500 SHOT DAISY, MODEL B, and DAISY MFG. CO. PLYMOUTH, MICH. U.S.A. The stamp also includes patent dates of OCT. 1, 1901 and JULY 19, 1904, with the notation OTHERS PENDING. The firearm features a manual lever-action cocking mechanism and is equipped with a fixed front blade sight and a rear V-notch sight. The wooden stock is fitted to the metal receiver with multiple screws. An auction inventory tag is attached to the metal lever with a white string.
Condition report:
The steel components, including the barrel, receiver, and lever, show significant and widespread surface oxidation, pitting, and loss of the original finish. The wooden stock exhibits age-appropriate wear, including various scratches, dings, and small chips. All major external components appear to be present; however, the mechanical functionality of the lever-action and firing mechanism has not been tested.
