Gun Collectors Dream Auction #84 June 13th & 14th
Lot 1173:
Sold for: $500
Description
The MIL Inc. Thunder Five is a robust five-shot double-action/single-action revolver specifically engineered to chamber both .410 gauge 3-inch shotshells and .45 Long Colt cartridges. This defensive-pattern firearm is characterized by its short 2-inch barrel and an elongated cylinder necessitated by the length of shotshell ammunition. The revolver features a matte grey Parkerized-style finish across the frame and barrel, contrasting with a darker finish on the cylinder. It is fitted with black checkered rubber finger-groove grips that incorporate gold-tone medallions displaying decorative initials. Integrated fixed sights are located on the top strap, and a manual thumb safety is positioned on the left side of the frame, marked with a red dot and the letter F for fire. Significant markings include the model designation THUNDER FIVE on the left side of the top strap and the manufacturer mark MILI PINEY FLATS, TN on the right. The barrel is stamped .410/.45 LC on the left side, and the serial number 1665 is visible on the left side of the frame below the cylinder. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The revolver is in good condition, retaining most of its matte finish with light surface scuffing and minor wear concentrated on the cylinder and frame edges. The bore is bright with well-defined rifling. The action appears to function correctly in both single and double-action modes, and the cylinder locks up securely. The black rubber grips are in good condition with sharp checkering and only minor handling marks.
